True protection from terrorist threats and explosions

Good old iron pipe for uses in the U.S. goes back to1830, the early use of pipe for petroleum transport started right after drilling the first commercial oil well in 1859 by Colonel Edwin Drake in Titusville, Pennsylvania.

The early oil pipes were short and basic and only had to get oil from drill holes to nearby tanks or refineries. There was an increase in demand for a oil products like kerosene, and this led to more wells being drilled and a larger need for transportation of these petroleum products to the markets. Early transport by teamster wagon, wooden pipes, and railways soon led to the development of more efficient pipelines.

During the 1860's as the pipeline business gained experience, quality control of pipeline manufacturing became more important. The type of metal used for oil pipes improved from wrought iron to better grades of steel.

As with most industries, the quality of oil pipelines has steadily increased over time, as we learn to make better and stronger steel, and develop ways to protect that steel in harsh conditions, such as underground or in wet areas.

They continue to enjoy a growing role in the petroleum industry providing safe, reliable and vary economical transportation. As the demand for energy increases around the world, bringing that energy in the form of oil to the growing markets has made the oil pipeline a great solution

Now, the challenge is learning how to protect the oil pipelines over time. Time presents a danger and risk as it marches forward into the unknown territories. The LC Titan Pipeline protection system is a very basic approach to actual protection from bombs and bullets. Our standard model is made from quench hardened ballistic plate and has earned the UL-10 certification at only 1/2" thickness. We can created a double wall for even higher levels of protection. The special LC Adjustable Legs can withstand a vertical force of 94,000 lbs per leg before yielding. No part of the Titan system actually touches the existing pipeline. There is an ample airgap between the oil pipeline and the Titan Canopy. The Titan canopy will protect the pipeline from terrorist threats, and it can also protect innocent people from an accidental pipeline explosions.

LC Enterprises can provide an advance node system which essentially makes the LC Titan Pipeline protection system come alive. The system consists of self powered "nodes" at predetermined intervals that allow for video, audio, vibration detection, heat sensors, or up to 16,000 sensors per node. Each node carries it's own digital address, and is connected to the system using fiber optic cables, hard copper and/or RF, or WiFi. This node system allows for instant communication of threats, tampering, or trouble, and the location of that trouble. Maintenance teams can use the nodes to communicate with the monitoring stations. The system is independant and solar powered. Training for using the node system is available in the USA.

This little marvel of engineering allows the LC Titan Canopy to be raised or lowered by simply turning a large nut. The upper nut or the lower nut can be adjusted to get the preferred height of the Titan Canopy. The Titan Canopy can be raised upward (crane or forklift) for pipe maintenance without needing to take the legs apart or altering the height adjustment. The Canopy can be replaced with no additional height adjustment needed. This leg is very blast resistant and can withstand a vertical force of 94,000 lbs before yielding. The leg can be cast into cement on site, or the base pad can be precast elsewhere. The leg can be bolted or welded to the Titan Canopy. Attachment points for optional equipment can be welded to the slider case. Lots of options here.

LC Titan Collars are also certified at UL10 protection level and are used at the Titan Canopy junctions. The LC Titan Collars provide protection at the open vent areas. Different sizes are available to accomoted different pipeline equipment such as valves, anchors, T connections etc.

The LC Titan Screen offers additional lower cost protection from tampering and flying objects. The screen can also provide shrapnel containment. Various sizes are available and can be attached with different methods.

The LC Titan Oil Pipeline Protection system allows a generous airgap for venting of volatile gases such as methane. The LC Titan Collars are also gapped over the main canopy. The Canopy lowers heat expansion of pipe and also blocks rainfall.
